Emilie Nicolas released her debut single “Pstereo” in 2013, and made an immediate impact on the Norwegian music scene. Her debut album Like I’m a warrior (2014) was released shortly after, and went straight to number one on the Norwegian album chart. She went on receiving two Spellemann awards (Norwegian Grammy) as well, in the categories Best new artist and Best pop act. A part from “Pstereo”, all the songs on Like I’m a warrior are written and co-produced by Emilie herself.

Following the release of her very first album, Emilie went on touring Norway and Europe. With a unique textual universe, a great sense of melody and an intriguing stage presence – she captivated audiences everywhere, and was considered one of Norway’s most exciting and promising pop acts. Amid all these positive events, Emilie suddenly went quiet. Illness forced her to take a break from music and limelight.

In 2018 Emilie returned, with the album Tranquille Emile. It received rave reviews and two Spellemann Awards in the categories Best album and Best Pop Act. She went on touring the album extensively, culminating in two sold-out nights at the 1400-capacity Oslo Opera House in October '19.

Emilie Nicolas released her third album Let Her Breathe 18th of June 2020. Here she is experimenting even further within the unique brand of electronic pop she's forged over the past 5 years. Uniting elements of pop, R&B and electronica – all wrapped in the sensibility of jazz – her new material succinctly captures despair, unbridled joy, and the desire to dance.

"I think it’s an album that shows some new sides of me. I hope it makes you want to dance, and at the same time provides moments of calm, warmth and reflection," Emilie says.

No longer simply a purveyor of "cool pop", Emilie is intent on bringing her fans even deeper into her world. Writing from a more honest and reflective place than ever before – her appetite for musical creativity is indisputably at its peak.
